One of her personal highlights was getting selected to be part of Snoop at the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, as well as writing songs despite all the turmoil of the past few years. The singer-songwriter is drawn to her, and is always looking at most recent beats. A lot of them inspire songs. She says that she can determine if the beat is good in just five seconds. Then, a new song may pop up in her head. My lyrics come to me whenever I'm outside on the patio, playing my guitar. Most of the time, it's under 30 minutes. Niykee continues to develop her abilities as a poet and lyricist. She says that the pain she experienced through the years is a constant source of unique inspiration. The hurt I experienced growing as a child and losing my younger sister are still reflected in my lyrics even when they are not exactly literal. It shapes my songs and builds this deeper meaning under everything which is one the most important things that I value. It is important to me to realize that I could listen to any one of my music 20 years later and be proud of what I had to say.
